This beautiful painting captures the traditional Spanish town of Chulilla, in the mountains of Valencia. This tiny village is around 40 minutes away from the city of Valencia and has become very popular with climbers in the last few years. I actually took this picture myself and was so pleased with it that I decided to paint it.
This was definitely my most detailed and time consuming painting – but it’s absolutely my favorite. Having been to Chulilla many times, this painting perfectly captures the vibe of the old Spanish way of life. With the people in the restaurant, the old white buildings to the mountains in the background. This painting never runs out of detail, you will see something new every time you look at it.
